Hazrat Shees Alaihissalam

Hazrat Shees Alaihissalam

                                                              بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیۡمِ

The universe existed in harmony until sorrow entered its domain. The first murder occurred on Earth, and atrocities began. Adam and Eve were deeply saddened, their tears flowing continuously. One son was brutally murdered, and the other was left in a state of despair. Then, a glimmer of hope emerged, illuminating the world. This was the blessing that God bestowed upon His devoted servant Adam in the form of a son, named Shees. Adam and Eve were overjoyed to receive this gift. Shees was known for his virtuous character, obedience, and adherence to his father's instructions.

At the age of 150, Shees married Hazratah, the daughter of Adam and Eve. They had a son and a daughter named Anuash and Naama. After this, he lived for another 500 years and had many more children.

As time passed, the descendants of Adam multiplied. New settlements and ways of life emerged. Adam's children divided into two groups: the descendants of Shees and the descendants of Cain (Qabil).

The descendants of Shees lived according to God's laws, while evil began to spread among the descendants of Cain. Satan rejoiced in his success. Adam's test had begun.

The descendants of Shees settled in the mountains, while the descendants of Cain settled in the plains. Time continued its course, and the time came for Adam to return to God.

**Adam's Will**

As Adam's death approached, he summoned his son Shees. He dictated his will, imparting wisdom and instructing him on the principles of day and night. He said, "My son, know that every moment, some creature is worshipping God." He also foretold a storm that would last for seven hundred years. Adam instructed that the written will be kept hidden from Cain's descendants, as he knew of Cain's jealousy, which had led to the murder of Abel. Therefore, the instructions given to Shees and his children were kept secret from Cain and his offspring.

**The Prophethood of Shees**

Shees became his father's successor. God blessed him with prophethood, and fifty sacred texts were revealed to him. He followed in his father's footsteps, guiding his children and urging them to obey God's commands.

He compiled the scriptures revealed to his father and adhered to their principles. He resided in the Kaaba for many years, regularly performing Hajj and Umrah (pilgrimages). Furthermore, he rebuilt the Kaaba using stones and mortar. In this way, he fulfilled his prophetic duties. He consistently cautioned his children against associating with the descendants of Cain, offering them guidance in this regard.

 Death of Hazrat Shees ے

When the time of your death came near, you handed over all the affairs to your son Anush and made him your heir and after that you took the veil. You were buried near your father in a cave in Jabal-e-Abi. Scholars-e-Kiram say that during the storm of Noah, Noah had  taken out the bodies of both of them and kept them in the boat and then after the storm was over, buried them in Baitul Muqaddas.

 Heirs of Hazrat Shees ے

Anush followed the path shown by his father and did not make any changes in it. “ Qayan ” was born to Anush. At the time of his birth, Anush was 90 years old. After this, Anush lived for 815 years and continued to ensure the rights of his children. When the time of Anush's death came near, he handed over all the affairs to his son Qayan and made him his successor. Similarly, Qayan's son “ Mahalail ” became his successor. The total age of Qayan was 910 years. “Khanukh i.e. “ Idris  was born   to Mahalael’s son “ Yard ”.

Incidents occurring from Hazrat Shees ے to  Yarad

  • During the reign of Mahalail, new settlements were established and new industries were started. The Ajami people believe that he became the king of seven provinces.
  • They dealt harshly with Iblis's army and chased them away into the valleys of the mountains. They killed the rebellious and infidel Jinns.
  • Mahalail was the first person who got the forests cut down and laid the foundation of cities and forts and built mosques. Among the cities he built, "Babul" which is near Kufa and "Sos" are important.
  • The first process of extracting iron from mines also started in your time and many types of weapons were made from it.
  • Dams were built to store water, which made people interested in farming.
  • Dangerous animals were killed and their skins were used to make clothes, mats, etc.

Mahalail used to give justice to the people. His rule lasted forty years. After Mahalail, his son “ Yard ” became his successor. He followed the ways of his father and became the successor of the advices which his grandfather had given to his father. And he managed all the affairs in the same way as his father had managed them.

The condition of Qabil's children

This was the statement of Hazrat Shis ے and his children. Now let us move towards the people of the plains who were the children of Qabil. There was some relaxation in Qabil's punishment. And he was given time. He had gone towards the plains. There he had many children. A son named “Khanuk” was born to him and to Khanuk his son “Andar” was born, from whom “Mahavil” was born and from Mahavil, Matusheel was born. Among Qabil's children, there was a person named Tobal who invented Sarangi, Tambourine and Dhol etc. And a man named “Tobiltin” started working in iron and brass.

The beautiful women of Banu Qabil and the beginning of obscenity

The men of Banu Shees who lived in the mountainous areas were handsome and the women were ugly whereas on the other hand the men of the plains were ugly and the women were beautiful. One day Satan became a servant of someone from the plains and started serving that man. During this time he made a niche in the shape of a flute from which a very melodious sound came out which people had never heard before. People would become ecstatic on hearing it. In a short time this news spread far and wide and people started coming to hear its sound. Then they fixed one day in the year on which all the people would gather and the women would come out of this devilish niche all dressed up and entertaining themselves and would entice everyone.

One day, due to some quarrel, a hillman attacked them. He was surprised to see the beauty of these women and he went and told his companions. So some hillmen went to see the beauty of the women living in the plains and got involved in immorality. They also started marrying among themselves due to which their number increased a lot and many people became rebellious and disobedient. These people were destroyed in the “storm of Nuh”.

Allah Rabbul Izzat gave Satan a break till the Day of Judgment so that the Adam generation could be tested and Satan kept trying to mislead man. And he misled many of Adam's children and pushed them towards the never-ending torture of hell. Those pious servants of God who remained safe from this evil achieved success and the never-ending blessings of heaven are waiting for them.

May Allah protect us and our future generations from the evil of Satan, Ameen !

Note: This part of the incident of Qabil's children is taken from the traditions of the people of the book, so there may be errors in it. Wallahu Alam
